Disability Leadership NZ
Empowering Disabled People to Lead, Influence and Inspire
Disability Leadership NZ has been created to encourage disabled people, whānau, advocates and communities to recognise the power of lived experience. Leadership is not only about titles, qualifications or public roles. Leadership begins when people understand their value, build confidence, speak up and help create positive change.
This website is a fresh start. Our goal is to provide motivational content, practical leadership guidance and disability-focused resources that support personal growth, advocacy, resilience and community leadership.
Leadership Starts With Belief
Many disabled people grow up facing low expectations, barriers and systems that do not always listen. Disability Leadership NZ is here to challenge that. Disabled people have knowledge, strength, insight and lived experience that can help shape better communities, better services and better futures.

Learn MoreBuilt From Lived Experience
Disability Leadership NZ is part of a wider disability-focused network created by Glen McMillan, a disabled disability advocate and founder of Children with Disability NZ. The website is shaped by lived experience, advocacy, accessibility work and a belief that disabled people should be seen, heard and included in decisions that affect their lives.
Our message is simple: disabled people are not just service users. Disabled people are leaders, thinkers, creators, advocates, mentors and changemakers.
Leadership Should Include Everyone
Disability leadership is about more than personal success. It is about creating space for disabled people to participate, contribute and influence change. Whether you are just beginning your journey or already advocating in your community, your experience has value.
Disability Leadership NZ will continue to grow with motivational content, leadership resources, disability news, RSS feeds and stories that encourage people to believe in what is possible.
